Re-thinking U.S. Strategy in Afghanistan and Pakistan

March 20, 2009
Re-thinking U.S. Strategy In Afghanistan/Pakistan
from Commomdreams.org
http://rethinkafghanistan.com/troop_full.php

This website presents a series of videos, interviews and arguments, about the need to find alternate ways of "dealing" with the problems in Afghanistan and Pakistan, besides forcing a military solution.

These views, by professional journalists, thinktanks, politicians, and military personnel give us an in-depth understanding of the situation,
and history, in that region of the world.

In light of the current decision by the administration and military for an additional 17,000 troops to be deployed to Afghanistan we need to raise our voices and urge a re-thinking on Afghanistan before these troops venture into a dangerous territory, and put the U.S. , once again, in a foreign war which is not desired by either the American or Afghan peoples.

Tomorrow there is a march on the Pentagon. Let us show our support for diplomacy and negotiations in Afghanistan and Pakistan as well as keeping more troops from engaging there, returning troops home.
