House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of “Drill here! Drill now!”
Pelosi paused and asked the group, “Right here?”
Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: “Can we drill your brains?”
She went on to refer to the protesters, who continued to chant sporadically, as “handmaidens of Big Oil.” Arguing that increased offshore drilling would reduce gas prices by only a couple of pennies a decade from now, she referred to the demonstrators as the “2-cents-in-10-years-crowd.”
Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer swiped at the demonstrators, too, saying that “sophomoric chanting” won’t solve the energy crisis and that “all thinking Americans know” — stressing the word "thinking" and looking at the crowd — that America doesn’t have a quarter of the word’s fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the world’s energy.

Nancy Pelosi has a completely dim view of the American people, no matter what they think. Any video I have ever seen where she collides with protestors and dissenters, no matter what side of the aisle they are on, no matter what the issue is, she mocks them. Nancy Pelosi is very condescending towards the American people, ALL the American people, it doesn't matter which party they belong to or who they represent. In her eyes, we are the great unwashed masses.

Don't be haters. And it's a good thing that you live in a country that allows you to express yourselves the way you do about our president.
Don't make this country weaker by sitting, crying and complaining. Research your cause, make phone calls and take action. Be sure you're doing it for the right reason and not just because you "hate" this or that. Give some specifics and real reasons why you're so bitter against our president and staff. And dont let yourself get carried away with all the woohaha. I dont always agree with our presidents decisions...do they affect me? Sure, some do in some ways. Will they destroy my family, work, or my economic situation? No. I will survive, and you will never hear me talk down about my country or its leaders.

(OFF THE COAST OF GAZA) 1 September 2008 - Israeli Naval vessels are
currently firing on unamrmed Palestinian fishing boats and international
human rights workers off the coast of the Gaza Strip. The fishing boats
are several miles off the coast of Gaza City, in Palestinian territorial
waters. As of 11am (4am EST) no one had been injured, but live ammunition
is still being fired in the direction of the civilian boats.
The unarmed boats went to sea at dawn this morning, in an attempt to fish
in their own water. Six international human rights workers from five
different countries accompanied the fishermen in the hopes that their
presence would deter the Israeli military from firing on the fishermen. In
the past the Israeli military has shot and killed unarmed Palestinian
fishermen for trying to fish in their own waters.
