Seal hunt protests in 11 Canadian cities

Protestors took to the streets in 11 Canadian cities last weekend to condemn Canada's ongoing seal hunt and claimed a shift in public opinion.

There is a danger now that sealers will soon begin shooting and clubbing harp seals on the ice floes off Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador ... the market for seal products does appear to be disappearing as Russia has now banned the hunts (see below) and China is paying less for pelts...says Sheryl Fink, IFAW.ORG

VICTORY FOR SEALS IN RUSSIA
On March 18 Russia announced a complete ban on the hunting
of all harp seals less than one year of age. IFAW applauds this historic end to the harp seal hunt in Russia.
