March 18, 2010, 6-8 PMAnti-War Protest in Daytona Beach to Mark 7 Years Occupation in Iraq
MEDIA ALERT: Antiwar Protest in Daytona Beach to mark 7 Years in Iraq
“7 Years In Iraq - No WMD’s, No Links To Al Qaeda, No Reason To Be There!”
When: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm - TV and Print Media will be there reporting. (Go to iCasualties for more information about U.S. soldiers KIA in Afghanistan and Iraq)
Where: Daytona Beach at the Northwest Corner of Nova Road and International Speedway Blvd, in front of the Steak N Shake restaurant. (1000 W. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114)
What: Demonstration marking 7 years since the U.S. invaded and has since militarily occupied Iraq and to tell our servant government in Washington, DC "Enough Already, Bring Our Troops Home Now!"
The only thing worse than having sent our soldiers to die in vain in Afghanistan and Iraq is for the American people to, by their consent of silence and indifference, allow more of our soldiers to die there in vain.
Meanwhile our U.S. military has killed over 1 million innocent Iraqi’s and has displaced millions more. What have you done today to end the senseless U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? Join us and get involved!
Call your Representative today at (800) 828-0498 or (202) 224-3121 and tell them to vote NO on War Funding!
Materials:
Attendees are asked to bring signs such as "Not One More Death, Not One More Dollar", "Troops Home Now!", "Your Silence Is Your Consent", "Stop The War, Get Involved", "Honor Our Dead, Demand The Truth", "Mourn The Losses, Learn The Truth, Investigate The Lies", "9/11 and War on Terror - One Big Lie", “Call (202) 224-3121. Tell your Reps to vote NO on War Funding!”
On Hand: (1) DVD copies of the 2009 Massimo Mazzucco stirring documentary "The New American Century" (www.usfilms.ea29.com), (2) copies of the researched and sourced September 27, 2007 Richard W. Behan article “The Mega-Lie called 'The War On Terror': A Masterpiece of Propaganda" (http://www.alternet.org/story/63632/?page=entire) which demonstrate and document how the U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were planned by PNAC one year before the 9/11 Attacks and have nothing to do with 9/11 or Osama bin Laden, and (3) memorial displays of 2' x 3' panels of 200 names each (22 panels in total) to list the names, ages, ranks, service branch, and hometown of each and every soldier listed as killed in action (KIA) in Iraq thru March 19, 2010.
