Poet John Murillo’s “Up Jump the Boogie”
On Saturday, April 17, 2010, poet John Murillo read excerpts from his first book of poetry, “Up Jump the Boogie.” The event took place at Baltimore’s celebrated Central Pratt Library, as part of the annual “CityLit Festival.” It was held in the Edgar Allan Poe room. Reviewer Kimiko Hahn wrote of Mr. Murillo’s debut book, “Dear reader, hold this book in your hands like a steering wheel and keep your eyes on the road.”
