BUSH in Washington DC: President Bush will welcome Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the White House on June 8, 2005. This meeting will provide an opportunity to invigorate U.S.-Turkish cooperation with respect to Turkey's European Union aspirations, and to strengthen our work together to advance freedom in Iraq and the Broader Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. BUSH in Washington DC: The President will welcome Republic of Korea President Roh Moo-hyun to the White House for a meeting and working lunch on June 10, 2005. The Republic of Korea has been a strong ally and partner in advancing freedom and promoting prosperity in Asia and beyond. The Republic of Korea has played a leading role in the international effort to assist the Iraqi people with security, training, and reconstruction, and now maintains the third largest contingent of forces in Iraq. *NEW: ROVE in California, 11am: President Bush's senior adviser and deputy chief of staff will present a lecture during an upcoming visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. The event with Karl Rove -- who oversees the development of policy, strategic planning, political affairs, public liaison and intergovernmental affairs for the White House -- is set for 11 a.m. June 11. Tickets are $150 per person and include lunch following the lecture. For reservations, call 522-2977. BUSH in Washington DC: President Bush will welcome Prime Minister Phan Van Khai of Vietnam to the White House on June 21. The visit marks the tenth anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties in 1995 between the United States and Vietnam. Prime Minister Khai will be the most senior Vietnamese official to visit Washington since that time. The two leaders will discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues. This meeting is particularly timely in light of Vietnam's hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in 2006. [White House, 5/27/05]
