Conyers Sets New Goal of 500,000 Signatures
SIGN THE LETTER TO BUSH HERE:

Dear MoveOn member,
Last month the Times of London printed "smoking gun" evidence that long before the invasion of Iraq the Bush administration was determined to go to war, intentionally distorting intelligence, and lying to the American people.
The proof comes from the classified minutes of a British cabinet meeting, referred to as the "Downing Street Memo." So far President Bush has refused to explain or directly respond to the memo, but pressure is mounting daily from Congress and the public. This week Tony Blair visited Washington and the press finally started asking the obvious questions

WHAT'S UP CHARLIE BROWN ?
Obviously the more signatures the better but read comment elsewhere
and writer stated he felt like Charlie Brown when Lucy kept moving the ball. Felt that delay in submitting signatures gathered so far might not
be best tactic, slow momentum. He may have a point. Might be more
effective for John Conyers and allies to WALK first 250,000 over with
maximum press coverage, and repeat every time another 250,000
reached. Keep up the pressure and publicity.

I am relieved to hear that MoveOn is finally on the case! Good job!
I wonder if Americans would believe this so called smoking gun if it were broadcast on Fox News . Probably not. The Times of London is also owned by Rupert Murdoch so the idea that it 's contributing to the downfall of Mr Bush is completely preposterous. Further, all the US authorities have to do is deny the contents of the memo. No individual or organisation is specified as the source of the American information.
This comes down to the fact that Americans think Britain is on another planet and the laws of physics and journalism are different there.
