John C. Bonifaz Bio
John C. Bonifaz is a Boston-based attorney specializing in constitutional law.
In February and March 2003, Mr. Bonifaz served as plaintiffs’ lead counsel in John Doe I v. President Bush, a constitutional challenge to President Bush’s authority to wage war against Iraq absent a congressional declaration of war or equivalent action. Mr. Bonifaz represented a coalition of US soldiers, parents of US soldiers, and Members of Congress arguing that the president’s planned first-strike invasion of Iraq violated the War Powers Clause of the US Constitution.
Mr. Bonifaz is the author of: Warrior-King: The Case for Impeaching George Bush (NationBooks-NY, foreword by Rep. John Conyers, Jr., January 2004), on the illegality of the Iraq war. The book presents an accounting of the John Doe I v. President Bush case and its meaning for the United States Constitution.
Mr. Bonifaz is a co-founder of AfterDowningStreet.org, a national coalition of veterans’ groups, peace groups, and public interest organizations seeking a formal congressional investigation into whether President Bush has committed impeachable offenses in connection with the Iraq war.
Mr. Bonifaz is also the founder of the National Voting Rights Institute (NVRI) and currently serves as its general counsel. Founded in 1994, NVRI serves as a prominent legal and public education center dedicated to protecting the right of all citizens to vote and to participate in the electoral process on an equal and meaningful basis.
Mr. Bonifaz is a 1999 recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. In awarding the five-year fellowship, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation stated:
Bonifaz, a public interest lawyer, uses innovative litigation to reexamine campaign finance reform arguments typically debated on first amendment grounds. Through the National Voting Rights Institute, an organization he founded, Bonifaz recasts the legal arguments to focus on fourteenth amendment protections, challenging the relationship between money and politics.
Mr. Bonifaz also maintains a private practice with his father, Cristobal Bonifaz, which specializes in international human rights and environmental law cases.
Mr. Bonifaz is a 1992 c. laude graduate of Harvard Law School.

For proof how Bush & Cheney used the tactic of the British of pushing drugs on China and used the same drug pushing gimmick against our country, get a copy of a grim documentary book titled: Trance Formation of America, by Cathy O'Brien & Mark Phillips.
These items raise a valid question; Is Sir George W. Bush allowing the "Southern invasion," while sending our soldiers to a far distant country to leave our country to be destroyed?
The British royals and elite seem to have more power over our government then we do. We were in the streets protesting the Iraq Shock & Awe yet Blair helped Bush go to war on his lies.
They buy up our resources and get our oil with little of no royalities to pay.
They are on CSPAN while American citizen action groups are limited as to time. Do they pay for their time on our cable?
The British have always hated democracy and 911 was the Queen's Trifecta back to power. She knighted Rudi for his involvement in 911 since it gave her wealth and power once again. Rudi was in London for the bombing there too. Greenspan and Rudi have connections and actions which are very questionable on that day of the bombing in London.
American corporations now send their profits to off-shore British islands (Cayman, etc.)to avoid paying taxes here. Ford even moved their headquarters to Ireland. The EU is clearly our ally but not our "friends". They profit off us and our leaders allow them to do so.
How about we give British companies a free tax haven in Hawaii and use their wealth? Would they be up set about that?
There is something going on with the British and European royals which I find very aggressive and not in our best interest (Bilderberg Group,etc.). Any American doing trade and war in secret with them (elected or not) has violated the Logan Act and the Constitution. Democracy is an open process.
God help anyone who does not heed his advice because the people (and the world) have had enough. I would advise any new President to follow his advice regarding their Constitutional rights, etc.
I would prefer to see Bonizaz as Attorney General or head of the FEC. It needs to be funded and commissioners appointed to be effective.
I see the Democrats even before they take office meeting in secret with various interest groups. This is undemocratic and dangerous. We were angry at Bush for this abuse and now we too do it?
Any new agency head has a long road ahead to bring back honesty and accountability of the various agencies since Bush has gutted them and filled them with cronies.
The whole government needs a Teddy Roosevelt to clean up the mess of cronyism created under the Republicans. Civil Service is the only way to keep our government effective and honest. Experienced federal employees are a valuable resource. Privitization has been a disaster and needs to be discontinued. Only then will the cronyism and robbery stop.
