Rep. Robert Wexler Wants You to Tell Him What to Ask Petraeus
As President Bush stubbornly refuses to change course in Iraq, it grows increasingly frustrating for those of us who have been loudly demanding a withdrawal. I know you share my frustration. Every day, I receive letters and emails from patriotic Americans who want to - somehow – personally contribute to a solution.
Now it is your turn.
Next week, General Petraeus – the architect of the failed surge policy and our chief military leader in Iraq - will be testifying before the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
For too long the Bush Administration has been in a bubble – hiding from the truth and avoiding tough questions from outraged American citizens. This time I am turning the oversight powers of Congress over to you.
I want you to be the ones asking the questions to General Petraus.
Write me back with a short reply and tell me what - specifically - you would like me to ask. Please include your first name as well as your city and state.
I will choose the best two questions and ask them to General Petraeus this Wednesday. You will be able to watch his answers directly on C-Span.
Please consider submitting a question. You already work so hard to bring accountability to this Administration and to bring our troops home from Iraq. I hope this provides you another opportunity for us to collaborate and directly influence the national dialogue.

Questions for Petreaus:
Will there be blood bath if we immediately remove troops in Iraq?
Will there be a blood bath if we remove troops in 5 years?
Will there be a blood bath if we remove troops in 10 Year?
Will there be a blood bath if we remove troops in 100 year?
Petreaus shoud answer all questions with a "yes", therefore we should remove
all troops IMMEDIATELY, because whenever we remove troops from Iraq, there will be a blood bath. By removing troops immediately, we will save the lives of Americans and billions of dollars of our treasury.
General Petraeus, are you aware that aggressive war and occupation of a sovereign country in violation of the UN Charter is illegal?
Was Germany's attach on and occupation of Poland before WWII illegal?
Are you ready to be tried for war crimes?

Four questions, which are really one question:
1) Will there be a blood bath in Iraq if we immediately remove troops from Iraq?
2) Will there be a blood bath if we remove troops in 5 years?
3) Will there be a blood bath if we remove troops in 10 years?
4) Will there be a blood bath if (as suggested by John McCain) we remove troops in 100 years?
Petreaus should answer "yes" to these questions, therefore we should remove all troops IMMEDIATELY as there will always be a blood bath whenever we remove the troops.
REMOVE TROOPS IMMEDIATELY AND SAVE AMERICAN LIVES AND TREASURY.
General Petraeus, you took an oath to serve and protect the US Constitution.
Article 6 states:
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
General, is the US in violation of the UN Charter having attacked and now occupying Iraq?
Is the US violating the Geneva Conventions by holding prisoners in the manner they are kept, for example torture and abusive treatment, in places like Guantanamo?
Do you not have the duty to defy an unlawful order?
The link you provided only takes us to Wexler's webpage. There is no heading for comments re. questions for Petraeus. Are we to assume that Wexler or Petraeus will be taking our questions from here?
Please, let us know how/if he will receive these questions.
Here's a question that has been bugging me for a really long time:
1. General, can you please explain the cost benefit of having so many private contractors performing duties that used to be performed by our military such as logistics, security, and intelligence, just to name a few?
It is my understanding that these private contractors come at a cost coming close to ten times the cost of military personnel. Please, explain the cost benefit as troops are denied armored vehicles, body armor, clean water/quarters, etc. and the private contractors are allowed to charge at will with no oversight.
My interrogatives would be about the privatization of our Military Machine. Why does Blackwater, a private commercial paramilitary corporation need to provide Security in a Zone meant for the Military personnel?
Do these ppl in the Blackwater type corp take an oath to up-hold the US Constitution or do they just kill for the CEO?

How about we tell Mr.Petraus,
That there's an International Agency of World Security that has Superior Technology that have him and others involved in this ILLEGAL war on there radar!

The United Nations Charter "prohibits the use of military force" against any nation without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, which never approved Bush's invasion of Iraq. Ask Petraeus "were you also aware that House Joint Resolution HJR 114 was not complied with either, LINK http://www.impeachbush.tv/args/noiraqauthority.html including the provision that "(d) Nothing in this joint resolution..(1) is intended to alter..the provision of existing treaties;", thereby making the entire Resolution "null and void" from the very first day of the invasion of Iraq?
Mr. Wexler:
Please ask General Petraeus who killed Colonel Ted Westhusing and why was it covered up? This is a VERY IMPORTANT question and it seriously affects General Petraeus' credibility.

The press has indicated that you are in favor of bombing Iran (see, for example, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/05/wiran105...).
Given that the invasion of Iraq has been shown to have been justified on false statements about the threat of Iraqi wmds and Saddam Husseins's link to 9/11, and given that a nobel laureate economist (Joseph Stiglitz) says that the U.S. recession was caused by the $3 trillion dollar price tag of the Iraq war, how can the U.S. possibly justify going to war against Iran?
Question for Gen. Patreaus.
What would bombing Iran do to your plans for stabilizing Iraq?
What effect would bombing Iran, as some have urged, have on our efforts in Iraq?
