Q: If you were to go back and change anything from your political career, what would it be?
A: Well, of course, the biggest disappointment for me is that we are still in this war in Iraq, and, ah, I had always thought at the time that, that, ah, people knew the truth they would not vote for this war and, I don't know what else, er, not have been supportive of this, I don't know what else we could have done, ah, but this has been the most damaging to us: loss of life, over 4,000, tens of thousands injured, many thousands of them permanently, cost in dollars, which is small compared to the loss of life and limb but the cost in dollars to the tune of trillions of dollars, the cost of reputation in the world, the cost in our military readiness, our capabi...eroding our...undermining our military capability to protect our interests wherever they are threatened, undermining our ability to fight the real war on terror which is in Afghanistan, uh, I don't know what else could have been done, ah, but I keep revisiting that every step of the way to think what could we have done to stop this President from taking us into a war on the basis of a false premise, without the proper preparation of our troops, without a plan for success, a strategy to leave, ah, that is where we have been for more than 2 years, we're there 2 years longer than we were in World War II.

I Am Having A Hard Time Understanding how Ms. Pelosi can admit to the "False Reason" why we went to a "War of Lies" and not proceed with holding the Bush Admin responsible for all of the Death and Destruction to our Nation, Iraq and the World. I do not understand why Ms. Pelosi will not show the world that our country is based on laws and freedom which if upheld, would end this war and the needless killing of so many innocent people. I do not understand why she will not show the world that we are the powerful nation by stopping a leader from committing even more "Crimes Against Humanity".
Ms. Pelosi, You are the third most powerful person in the world, you should now show the world you can uphold this position. If you would prosecute the Bush Admin, we could regain world respect we had prior to the "BushMess".

Pelosi is beginning to crack on impeachment. She allowed limited hearings to take place on Kucinich's impeachment resolution. This was shortly after Cindy Sheehan began collecting signatures for a run as an independent. Now that Cindy has qualified for the ballot Nancy must be really scared. If Sheehan gets enough votes Pelosi could lose her seat, either to Sheehan or to the Republican candidate.
We can increase the pressure on Pelosi by sending a check to Cindy Sheehan's campaign and a copy of the check to Pelosi along with a letter explaining why we are supporting Sheehan. With enough pressure from us Pelosi might put impeachment on the table.
At one point, Ms. Pelosi mentioned that our nation was divided and she wished to heal this division. No, Nancy it is not your job to bring us together – it is your job to represent us and with a majority of us against the illegal occupation of Iraq, your job should be relatively easy – end this illegal occupation, stop the war funding, bring the troops home, respect the rule of law and prosecute those who have committed crimes [quite a few, I suspect]. Remind yourself that the Constitution and separation of powers are good things and we need to make sure that they are followed. Above all, give those fossil, cold-war neocons [the “crazies”] all the hell they deserve-we will then begin to consider respecting you as a Speaker of the House. Honestly Nancy, your job is so easy – a caveman could do it!

Madame Speaker, let me explain it to you. Going to war under false pretenses is a criminal act. It is also an impeachable offense. Lying to the Congress is an impeachable offense. There is sufficient ground for a person to press murder charges against Bush once he leaves the country. I know Madame Speaker is not a lawyer. Please get a copy of Vicent Bugliosi, who was an excellent district attorney, book The Trial of George W. Bush for murder. In that book, Madame Speaker can find all of the grounds for impeachment.
As far as what should Madame Speaker have done? The answer is obvious - start an impeachment investigation.
