Rep. Conyers Promises Post-election Impeachment Hearings
Jodin | Daily Kos
While speaking on the topic of impeachment Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) promised that after the November 4 elections, he would pursue legal actions against the Bush administration. Conyers is in a unique position to initiate impeachment. As the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee (the body which would be responsible for initiating impeachment), he has been the sole obstacle to impeachment occurring ever since he and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA, Speaker of the House) took Impeachment "off the table."
However, now it appears that Conyers will be pushing impeachment. At the "Take Back America Conference", Conyers replied, "Yes, you have my word on that." He then shook the hand of a questioner resolutely. The congressman was speaking in a panel, "The Republic Against the Rogue Presidency." Conyers described what was keeping him from pursuing impeachment. He said that he wanted to wait until Obama was elected, as he feared that impeachment would become an election issue.
Please write to Congressman Conyers and thank him for finally pursuing accountability:

With friends like Conyers and Pelosi who needs enemies?
Let us never forget the number of Americans and Iraqis that have died since the Democrats took control of congress and then refused to end the war and impeach those that started it.
If Uncle Tom Conyers now impeaches Bush and Cheney, well and good; then lets get rid of the two traitorious Democrats Conyers and Pelosi, who betrayed America for their own political advantage. How does that make them any better than Bush and Ceney? Every drop, of blood shed in Iraq is as much on their hands as it is on Bush and Cheney!
A pox on both their houses!
But why should he care? He was just re-elected with 92.4% of the vote, which proves the people of his district aren't paying attention anyway.
He can rest assured that for as long as he wants to stay, the job is his. He won't have to worry for a minute about voters holding him accountable for the blatant betrayal of his sworn oath to uphold the United States Constitution.
And when he finally does retire (or perhaps keel over in the midst of yet another of his empty promises), he can certainly count on being praised to the ends of the earth for his "decades of honorable service."
But the truth will be there no matter how many fail to recognize it, and karma will be a bitch for Mr. Conyers.

False "Uncle Tom" Anger
ONLY John Conyers, as Head of the Judiciary, can indict and prosecute Cheney and Bush on murder charges and war crimes at any moment if he chooses to do so.
Conyers himself stated "impeachment is difficult and it is painful, but the courage to do what must be done is the price of remaining free" Click Here http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/4/95218/85782 So what's he waiting for?

...and ask if he's willing to keep his word. In any case, I urge folks not to let up.
so that impeachment will be an impossibility. Conyers is complicit and talks the talk.
