If Blago was a Republican his Republican colleagues would say its just partisan politics. He didn't do anything wrong. The Republicans would not be considering any action against their Republican Governor until the investigation was completed and their Govenor had his day in court. He's innocent until proven guilty and that's an American value that applies to the Govenor as well. This same democratic majority that impeached Blago was completely and totally deaf, dumb, and mute when State Rep Karen Yarbroug at yarbroug@ilga.gov introduced her Illinois Bush Impeachment Resolution, Click Here http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/fulltext.asp?SessionId=50&GA=94&DocTypeI... Click Here http://www.ilga.gov/house/Rep.asp?MemberID=1203 Apparently the politics surrounding the filling of a senate seat is impeachable but lying a country to war and ignoring warnings of an attack on the nation resulting in 9/11 are not impeachable and certainly not worthy of a special session. When Speaker Madigan, Click Here http://www.ilga.gov/house/Rep.asp?GA=95&MemberID=1172 impeaches a fellow democrat without without ever bringing Bush's Impeachment Resolution to the House Floor for a vote his red neck Republican and disgusted democratic voters in Illinois might just vote a clean sweep.
The irony is too thick to cut with a chainsaw. As a matter of fact, I read a diary over at Redstate (yeah, I lurk over in enemy territory) and this mouthbreather had that very concern you talk about- If Illinois can impeach in a New York Minute, people might push for the Federal House to do the same thing to the assholes in this administration. I think this dumbass might just have had his one lucid thought (allotted for his lifetime).
