Where Left meets Right
I have come to realize we do not meet in the middle, actually as far away from the center as you imagine. We meet on the "fringe". Common ground can be found, and a perfect example is HR 1207 to audit the Federal Reserve. Along with being strongly anti-war, anti-torture, anti-FISA, and being against coorperate bailouts, to name a few.
As a "far right" Ron Paul supporter, I hate to see what is about to pass as healthcare reform. Never for one second, did I think Congress would not pass anything but a insurance industry money maker. That is why I opposed this healthcare reform from day one. To me the war supplemental and healthcare reform is what the Obama administration is and was always about. Toeing the political center and to the powers that be.
Any true Paul supporter would admit he wishes Obama was more to the left, if that means actually stopping torture, pulling out of Iraq NOW, and not letting insurance companies kill even more Americans.
About the media. No politician has been treated worse than Paul, expect maybe Blagojevich, a criminal. I don't care for Hannity, O'Reilly, Olbermann or Maddow. They are nothing but PARTY hacks. The occasional criticism of Obama or Bush by them does nothing but make them appear as reporting journalists.
I personally am not strongly opinionated on abortion, gay marriage, creationism, or global warming. Look for the cap and trade bill to have problems similar to healthcare reform. Those seem to be the biggest divides between us. They rank near the bottom along with banning flag burning and baseball players taking steriods.
Keep up the good fight over here for what you believe in, as we will on the other side. When we meet, we are unstoppable.
