Interview by Paul Jay, The Real News, with Daniel Ellsberg, writer of The Pentagon Papers on the Vietnam War.
titled Ellsberg: From Vietnam to Afghanistan this 'Must See'
Video Interview covers Ellsberg's analysis (formerly with the
Rand Corporation) of the war in Afghanistan compared to the
many years the U.S. fought and lost the war in Vietnam.
Ellsberg discusses the current status of U.S. and Taliban troops,
their culture, and the weaknesses of U.S. strategy desiring to
bolster the Afghan Army, which Ann Jones says hardly exists.
Ellsberg is glad Presdent Obama is considering various options
on Gen. McChrystal's request for 40,000 to 80,000 additional
troops but fears he will disregard advise to the contrary in making
his decision. If so, more blood will flow from the bodies of U.S.
as well as Afghan troops.
This is a Must See Video Interview.
