After reading the transcripts it seems there are some big problems with what is being said here. Feeling hopeless in today's environment should be no surprise to anyone. Our world is upside down, and not even round anymore. The people on this planet have never been so cowardice, avoiding to confront the real problems and continue to enable and go along with our neighbors, family, and our employer's bad behaviors all so we may benefit in some short term, short sighted way. So what is a person to do we they learn the truth about our nation's future, and the hopelessness of our situation. Well, most people from what I have seen just pretend nothing is wrong.
On the other hand, you have those who are not desensitized from their environment. This would be also involve the ones who are using chemicals to subdue the reality of this hopeless world left to them. And who could blame them, as long as it is not a permenent method of copping with ones problems. And I have seen the so called healthy man who we call societies norm, well, this person has always and will always handle his problems by avoidance, misbehavior, and the go along mentality that involves no articulation other than to see how many people they can jump on their backs to make a buck (all while telling the others that they are not on their back, and that they wish they could ease their pain yet will not get off their backs).
We should be more careful when labeling others. That is, unless you want this world to stay the way that it is with all this bad behavior.
A good read on this topic is Vaclav Havel "Power of the Powerless", or simply just observe what is really happening around you, and do the right thing. We are here to add to others in a positive regard, and NOT get simply take from others and pretend it has no consequences.
Or one could say this is a battle of ideas. On one side we are being taught that the bully or the tuffest kid on the block wins the prize (which is what Charles Darwin implied), or we can choose to be more like the rest of the animal kingdom as Peter Kropotkin descibed which states that for any species to survive, everyone one of those critters are using mutually benificial relationships that intermesh to form a working model where there is no single animal who takes what he wills. All survive, or none of them survive.
