Conyers and Others To Hold Democratic Hearing On Domestic Spying Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressmen John Conyers, Jr., Bobby Scott and Chris Van Hollen and other Members to hold a Democratic Hearing to consider the legal ramifications of President Bush's warrantless surveillance.
Regarding the hearing, Conyers stated, "last month all 17 House Judiciary Democrats called on Chairman Sensenbrenner to convene hearings to investigate the President's use of the National Security Agency to conduct surveillance involving U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, in apparent contravention of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. As our request has since been ignored, it is our job, as Members of Congress, to review the program and consider whether our criminal laws have been violated and our citizen's constitutional rights trampled upon. We simply cannot tolerate a situation where the Administration is operating as prosecutor, judge and jury and excluding Congress and the courts from providing any meaningful check or balance to the process."

It is gratifying to know that there are still some honest people serving this country in congress. People that are not committed to Bush's criminal phylosophy and people that are not boud to committments because of Abramoff's money. Thanks to all of you, hang in there, we need you. With help of a just God America will give the congress bact to the people in 2006.

I will tell you how far they are going. I am a 50 year old housewife, mom to a 17 yr. old who I WILL NOT ALLOW TO GO TO IRAQ, OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR BUSH. I ordered a couple of F Bush shirts last night, and TONIGHT my pc was "disconnected", I had to use my systems restore to get online.....I KNOW some IGNORANT ARROGANT LITTLE CIA FREAK did it, and I am FURIOUS. So watch your back, they will be taking people like us who disagree with them to Gitmo, or one of their little secret prisons, and our own families will never see us again, we are now living under a police state, I tried to talk about it on AOL and got hacked good...it is the NSA and CIA at their best. We are all doomed to a life of slavery regardless of our beliefs and we have let it happen. They are too powerful now, and Bush is insane with greed and power.
Yes folks this week I, Michael G. Fermanich sent a letter informing the Judiciary Congress and Senate of my unacceptance of President Bush threatening me as a citizen about not agreeing with his agenda's and what might happen if I protest or comment negatively on any of the Bush Administration activities. Well, I am a your service, Mr President Bush and bring it on. The "Elete" must feel I don't have equal rights of protest. Shame Shame on the Bush Adminstration.
I am proud to include you as a real patriot. The Bush/Cheney cabal that includes Jurist Samuel Alito are building a fascist police state in the US, deceiving the gullible by playing on their fears of terrorism to grant them more and more un-Constitutional power. More Americans must stand up for the defeat of Alito's confirmation and the impeachment of Bush and Cheney to save our republic. This is no game; this is the fight of our lives. If we lose, our future is dark beyond imagining.
Thank you all for your support. The hearings were a first for me, and I hope you true patriots and good citizens had a chance to view them. We the people are the government and we need to take it back from the likes of those the hearings were held about.
Fear sells, so I ask all of you to show courage and detachment. If you are worried about losing things, you can't be a good citizen of a democracy. If you fear losing your liberty and your life, you are among friends. Keep up the good work each of you does in your own way.
The truth will always be a credible threat to illegitimate and unjust power. THreaten the Bush regime with the truth today.
