We have to save ourselves. Stop deluding yourself that there is any other solution to our Bush and Cheney problems besides impeachment. Impeachment is the only way.
Now, ol’ Dubya might have delusions of grandeur; but, he’s got power. He’s got so much power that a few delusions here and there don’t hurt him a bit. He can actually afford quite a lot of craziness. In some quarters, a tad bit of religious mania is viewed as a good thing.

"If You Have Nothing to Hide...
..you've got nothing to worry about." We've all heard it. Over and over and over again. There are still people parroting it.
We've also heard these chestnuts. The police don't arrest innocent people. There's never been an innocent man executed by the state. The National Security Agency is only spying on terrorists. The NSA is only listening to conversations with one side overseas. The NSA isn't involved in a massive domestic surveillance operation. That requires a FISA court order. Doesn't it make you wonder?
Mike Ferner Shares a Letter From Iraq
Mike Ferner, member of Veterans for Peace, activist and potential felon for peace (if he's convicted in Ohio for spraying Support the Troops, Bring Them Home on overpasses) has shared this letter from a friend who's been in Iraq recently.
friends,
here is a dispatch from cathy breen who is based amman, jordan these days. from there she and kathy kelly recently traveled to baghdad and kurdistan.
A Veteran Writes
The following is an e-mail message set by a member Veterans for Peace, Chapter 27 to his friends and family. P&J#1119 simply identifies this particular message for the author.
From: "Dick Bernard"
To: "'Dick Bernard'"
P&J#1119 struck a chord with several of you, all in the 'senior citizen' category. Your comments follow, and seem appropriate to end Memorial Day. The basic audience for #1119 was my own family mailing list of perhaps 40 or 50. I took a deep breath this morning, and hit 'send', and off it went to all of them.
A Picture is...
...and a baby is worth thousands upon millions of words. George Bush, why didn't you spend words before you started a war based on lies? Why, even now, you could be spending words instead of bullets. Did Jesus Christ really tell you to go to war? Or, have you deluded yourself through worship of Mammon. Those words, George, those words--go to war and kill and destroy--who said them? The man who suffered the little children? Who did you talk to, George, when you talked Armageddon with god?
Not Another Kent State
Mike Ferner was the chair of the Veterans for Peace, Impeachment Project. Now, he's a felon; or soon will be. His crime--spray painting "Support the Troops, Bring Them Home" on three highway overpasses in Ohio. It's a felony to deface public structures in Ohio now.
The National Guard over reacted at Kent State University and killed four students and wounded nine others on 4 May 1970. Their "crime" was protesting the war in Vietnam. Protesting a war is again a crime in Ohio. This time its George Bush's war in Iraq. And again the functionaries of the State of Ohio are over reacting.
My First Act in Office
By John Murphy, Candidate for Congress
http://www.johnmurphyforcongress.org/
The very first thing that I will do upon being elected to the House of Representatives will be to introduce a bill of impeachment charging George W. Bush and Richard Cheney with high crimes and misdemeanors.
This president, along with his vice president and surrounded by a small clique of political fanatics calling themselves "neoconservatives" has lied to this nation about the reasons for our invading Iraq. Contrary to international law and US treaty, he and his vice president are responsible for the torture and murder of political prisoners and have, contrary to domestic law, ordered the National Security Agency (NSA) to eavesdrop on conversations of American citizens without court approval. George W. Bush and Richard Cheney have disgraced their office and our nation and have run roughshod over domestic and international law.

Why aren’t more Americans concerned about domestic spying? Take a trip to the local mall. The explanation is obvious There are security cameras everywhere. There’s one monitoring the highway entrance ramp. And there’s another just a mile or so up ahead. Look, there’s a state trooper with a video cam mounted on the dash. And, another camera as we exit. Still having trouble seeing why Americans don’t care about spying? Then, check out the local police tagging us with his radar gun. And, just beyond him, is a camera designed to automatically ticket red light runners.

IFPJ Rules of Engagement
Impeachment Activism: IFPJ Style
by Daniel I. Fearn
1. Unless Bush is impeached, there will be no justice. Without justice, there is no basis for a lasting peace. So, we must impeach Bush in order to have peace.
2. The peace and social justice movements must remember the justice part of their mission. One can not protest only for peace. Everyone is for peace. George Bush is for peace through superior fire power. The reclamation of our civic society must start with a peace movement that is a peace and justice movement.
Mailing Labels
By Philip C. Restino, Co-Chair, Founding Member, Central Florida Veterans for Peace, Member, Military Families Speak Out - Florida
I have created an MS Word file set for Avery self-stick 1" x 2 5/8" mailing labels (Avery template #5160, 30 labels to a sheet) that provides for 2 blue and white AfterDowningStreet.org "Honor Our Dead, Demand The Truth" images per label as follows:
Once the 30-label sheet (3 columns of 10 labels each) is printed out, the next step is to take a straight edge and a knife and make a cut down the middle of each column of labels so as to get 2 stickers each per label. Print them, peel them, and stick them on outgoing mail and just about anything else to bring attention to and inform others of the AfterDowningStreet.org website.
